Each year there is often a selection of arcade game releases that have paved their way back onto consoles. For example, Ultra Street Fighter was released this year, and there is still a degree of popularity for these types of games.
Younger generation may be more likely to want to play the modern games with high quality visuals and complex controls, but those who have really experienced retro gaming may want these releases on new consoles.

Some might argue that they’re able to dust down their old consoles and plug them in, but with technology moving as fast as it is, perhaps the only ways to experience retro gamin one day will be on modern consoles. Scart leads may no longer be necessary in the future, while old machines may slowly begin to die out.
So yes there may still be the need for these classic games, especially considering the fact that true classics are never forgotten, and there will always be a large number of people who want to relive their vintage gaming years.
