Football games have never really transitioned well when moved over to Nintendo games consoles, so it has been quite interesting to see how FIFA 18 has gone down on the Nintendo Switch. The result is actually that the game is very good, and not too dissimilar from FIFA 18 on the Xbox and PS4. That said, the Switch is not quite as powerful a console, so the game does lag a little in areas, and the online gameplay isn’t the smoothest, but the visuals are actually rather superb and so too is the gameplay engine. It’s a fun game to play on the Switch but it doesn’t feel quite as serious as it does on the Playstation or Xbox so a hardcore FIFA fan will see a few big differences, but on the whole we’re very pleased with this release, and we hope to see Nintendo provide a suitable platform for fast paced sports games for years to come, especially after the disaster of the Nintendo Wii.
